Summary 2024

2024 was a particularly eventful and successful year for test²multiply. We were able to further expand our commitment and effectively reach people in our region with sexual health counseling and testing.

More than 520 counseling sessions and tests were carried out on a total of 29 dates – including seven additional events. This corresponds to a rate of around 18 contacts per appointment. Since the start of the project in 03/2018, more than 1,700 contacts and consultations as well as tests for STIs have been carried out.

On 10th of September 2024, our City Region Councillor Dr. Tim Grüttemeier signed the Paris Declaration in the presence of Health Department Head Dr. Michael Ziemons and various representatives from the health sector, thus sealing the StädteRegion’s accession to the Fast Track City Initiative. This makes the StädteRegion the 5th city in Germany that is particularly committed to the UNAIDS goals. Many thanks at this point to all those who have supported this initiative! In addition, the Fast Track cities of Maastricht (joining in 11/2023) and Liège (joining in 05/2024) are planning to join forces to form a Fast Track region. With the establishment of the first cross-border action alliance, we in the Euregio will be able to achieve the UNAIDS goals more quickly together with the individual players and institutions!

We have big plans for the coming year 2025: in addition to establishing the fast-track region with cooperation partners from the Netherlands and Belgium, we want to further expand our reach, develop innovative approaches to prevention and tap into new target groups.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported our project in recent years and wish you a relaxing and harmonious Christmas season and a good start to 2025!
